The Best Residential Proxies for Social Media & B2B
LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and similar B2B and social platforms run aggressive anti-bot defences: fingerprinting, behavioural analysis, and account-level signals on top of IP reputation. Pick the wrong proxy and you pay twice, in blocked requests and burned accounts. Here the proxy factors that matter are pool quality, connection reliability, and IP cleanliness.
Inferred — not directly probed
We do not probe LinkedIn, X, or Instagram. Their Terms of Service prohibit it, and we won't risk fingerprinting our infrastructure across providers. On account-safety platforms an IP with abuse history gets your account challenged or banned whatever the target, so we rank primarily by IP cleanliness (the share of exit IPs with no AbuseIPDB report) and session stability — weighted equally — with hard-target reachability as a third factor. These are independent measured signals, so none is double-counted.
Overall pool quality, reliability, and IP reputation, not direct probes of these platforms. We do not probe LinkedIn, X, or Instagram (their Terms of Service prohibit automated access).

5.0/5Why Social Media & B2B Platforms is a hard target
LinkedIn uses a stack similar to Cloudflare Enterprise plus custom behavioural fingerprinting. X moved to a comparable system after the 2023 redesign. Instagram leans on Meta's internal fingerprinting plus IP reputation. All three penalize datacenter IPs and demand high-quality residential pools with realistic browser fingerprints.

Pay attention to IP repeat rate
Social platforms flag accounts that switch IP often (every-request rotation looks robotic). Look for sticky sessions of 10+ minutes; one IP lets you complete a multi-step flow (login → feed → DM) like a real user.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you test LinkedIn / X / Instagram directly?
- No. We probe only targets that allow automated traffic in their robots.txt or carry no anti-automation clause in their ToS: Google and our own neutral judges. We infer LinkedIn/X/Instagram performance from a provider's anti-bot bypass on those tougher targets. The inference is well-established in the scraping community: a provider strong against Google's defences usually handles LinkedIn-class platforms.
- Why not test directly anyway? Everyone does it.
- Two reasons. First, it risks getting our test infrastructure fingerprinted across the proxy industry, so every provider would see degraded LinkedIn rates because of us, not their network. Second, it violates the platforms' Terms of Service, which we won't do as a benchmarking authority.
- Will my LinkedIn account survive proxy use?
- Account survival depends mostly on behavioural patterns (rate of profile views, connection requests, message volume), not proxy choice. A good residential proxy is necessary but not sufficient; you still need realistic activity pacing. We benchmark the proxy half of the equation.
